Yes I got 87 hours of sleep this week

Hey guys! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This week was CRAZY...and no, that's not just what missionaries say about a busy week. On Tuesday morning I woke up with swollen lymph nods and dizziness. I couldn't even really get up, and it progressively got worse each day, so on Thursday we went to the doctor. We found out I had an allergic reaction to some of the medicine I was taking for my ulcers! I stopped the medication, I slept all week and finally felt better Saturday afternoon! It made for some interesting numbers this week. But I am alive and my testimony strengthened SO much of priesthood blessings! I got one this week that said almost the same thing of a blessing I got in Costa Rica! The priesthood power is the same, and it has the ability to comfort, heal, seal, bless and perform saving ordinances!

We met the coolest jovencito this week, on Saturday when we finally left the house! He read the Restoration pamphlet and when we went back yesterday he said he read it all and ASKED FOR A BOOK OF MORMON! The only downfall...he's moving to Mexico tomorrow. :( but we will stay in touch through Facebook and we have faith the elders can find him in Monterrey!

About Facebook...we get it this week! I was so bummed at first, thinking what a waste of time, but as we have been being trained over the past few weeks, I am SO excited! It is going to be such an amazing way to stay in contact with our investigators and get the ward members involved in such an easy way! We will just be able to download Facebook on Thursday, and use it to help us proselyte! I'll have just the app on my tablet and we will be able to have Facebook lessons with our investigators who are always so busy! I am really excited. :))

We also had the ward Halloween party this week! It was the BEST! We had so many less actives and investigators come! It was such a good turnout and everyone is so willing to help! I am so amazed at how willing and loving the members are here! They are so willing to feed us dinner...sometimes we even have more than two a night...haha.

I know without a DOUBT that Christ lives and loves us. He loves each of us individually, and really does hear and answer our prayers! I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and being able to share it! The Book of Mormon is so true and I love it with all my heart and soul. I cannot believe that I have this second chance to be serving the Lord, and I am soaking in every single minute:)

Also shoutout to Hermana Young from PROVO UTAH! aka the best comp ever. What would I have done without her this week? I am sooo glad that I am here and I couldn't even imagine not knowing her! The Lord truly does place people in your life for a reason!!!

Have a good week cuties and eat lots of yummy Halloween candy for me!

milagros y cambios

Hey guys!

This week is transfer week...and I am staying here and so is Hermana Young! Wahoo! It should be really good and we have so many things that we want to work on and get better at this transfer! We are so excited:)

On Saturday, Valeria got baptized! So I forgot if I told y'all already, but we were walking in this trailer park about 5 weeks ago, and this little girl came out to tell us that she wanted us to stop by, and little did we know, they were members visiting from Honduras. The grandparents are visiting their daughter and 2 grandchildren, but they are inactive (the ones that live here) and so they didn't know where the church was! Well...we stopped by and told them! The weeks have gone by, after FHEs and dinners, and now the mom is active and her daughter got baptized! That night was a party for Valeria's bday! It was a really sweet day, helping those who wouldn't have had the chance to attend church, now they do! The grandma told us that she has prayed and is staying here in Texas! It was a cool experience of being able to help someone enter the waters of baptism. The whole ward has totally loved them too, they all came to the birthday party that night and it was so amazing to see how they have just loved this family. :)

We had sooo many miracles this week! We have had 3 lessons in members homes, and have been working with the members to teach those who live with them!!❤❤ We have an appointment tonight with one of them named Felipe..and we just met him Friday while we were eating dinner with a hermana! I was able to talk to him about my past job at parks and rec, and that got him out of his room! He was totally interested in the gospel and we shared the restoration.  It was so powerful and helped strengthen my testimony more than anything!!

We are going to be a Facebook mission in a week! At first I was a little disappointed because I wasn't sure how it was going to work! But then we watch a video that of course made me cry, and I realized that God is just hastening his work, and the church has always been up-to-date with technology. It is going to be a wonderful way to stay connected with our investigators and give good followup!

I am happy. I know without a doubt that God loves me, that I am His daughter and that he hears my prayers. I know this church is true and that this work is the best thing I could be doing. I love you all and I know God does too:)

Have the best week ever!!!

Blessed week

Hola mi amada familia!

This week...was the best. I'm going to struggle finding time to fully describe everything that happened, because it was all TOO good.

First off, we had interviews with President Hewlett. Let me tell you, that man is amazing. We may have both spent half my interview sobbing. The spirit was SO strong and he answered a lot of my questions I had had. also, he gave me some advice to drink Diet Coke...so any of you who really know me, know that I took that advice very seriously ;)

We also had a member of the Seventy come to our mission! :) Elder Hallstrom came and we had a zone conference on Friday. It was AMAZING. I learned more about teaching by the spirit, and how important it is to make sure our investigators and members understand faith in Jesus Christ, and that we have faith in Him. He talked about who we should be, and talked about the importance of remembering our divine heritage as sons and daughters of God. Then he shared about the importance of who we should become. He talked about being COMPLETELY converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because then we will be able to have a firm foundation when the hard times come. Needless to say, I left the meeting inspired and with lots of things to do and get better at :)

We are struggling with our cute investigators wanting to set return appointments with us...they always call and cancel before, or we show up and they don't answer:((( Any tips or advice with that?

We are still teaching a woman named Janeth, she was a referral from the English elders (they give us the name and phone number of basically everyone they talk to in Spanish lol) She is amazing. She has been reading the Book of Mormon for months now, and her boyfriend is a member. She has gone through SO much in her life, she says its like a novela, and it totally is! She told us that she wants to be ready for when her boyfriend moves back to Houston, in a few weeks, so they can start a family in the same church and be an eternal family. HELLO that is exactly what you wanna hear as a missionary! Stay tuned with her. :)

What else? I am so happy. I finished the Book of Mormon this morning again, and I have grown a LOVE for that amazing book of scripture while I have been here. I know, without any doubt in my mind, that it can bring us closer to God than any other book and that it was written by God! :) GO SHARE IT! It's the best book ever. I know its tough to share the gospel in Utah. But I challenge y'all to share something on social media today! :)

I love you all! Oh I and I completed 10 months in the mission this week! Kinda crazy....only 8 more months and its gonna go by before I know it.

Accidental new missionary

Hola familia y amigos!

This week was really good! We hit up lots of trailer parks and saw lots of miracles. My comp and I are getting along SO WELL and every single day my testimony grows about how I need to be here and how much God knew that I need Hermana Young!

We had 2 investigators at church, one is named Cecilia! She just turned 18 yesterday and her grandma is a member! And our ward mission leader also brought his friend to church! WAHOO! It was amazing. We, all 4 Hermanas, also spoke in Sacrament Meeting! It was really good!

We had the new mission training this week and it was amazing. We totally weren't supposed to go, seeing that I am already a trained missionary and such, and we got a text from our ZL telling us that we didn't need to go that morning, but our phone broke the night before so we didn't get the message until it was way too late! lol But it turned out being SO inspired that we went! I learned so much. President Hewlett is focusing on the Doctrine of Christ, and teaching it to the members, and our investigator. It was amazing! Faith, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. It really is true that if we don't have faith in God, the whole gospel wouldn't be real. We MUST have faith, and the miracles always come after we ACT on our faith. :)

I am loving it here! There are a lot of hispanics and lots of potential here! Trailer parks are our favorite spot. We are teaching someone named Jose Martinez...mark my words. He will be converted unto the Gospel. he's amazing.

Love you all! Thanks for all the love and support. Miss you all...but know that I am so happy here! I LOVE TEXAS:) and the gospel. But you already knew that.

xoxo

There are no small miracles

Hola a todos!!

First off, lets talk about CONFERENCE! I wrote down 6 questions that I was seeking answers for, and BOOM within the end of the Saturday morning session, ALL of them were answered! I know that God truly does inspire and guide His Prophet and Apostles in our day to help up receive guidance and revelation for our lives!

I LOVED D. Todd Christofferson's talk. One thing that he said totally impacted me. He said that when the bread is broken for the sacrament, it is broken in all sorts of little different pieces. They are all different, not one being the same. They are all individual pieces, just like those who partake of it. We ALL partake of the sacrament for different reasons, we are all trying to become better for different reasons, have different sins, make different mistakes, but through partaking the sacrament each week, we can truly become better. We can become whole through the Sacrament and repentance! God is so good and merciful to his children. :)

There have been COUNTLESS times again this week when people have told us "I've been praying for Hermanas to come here to my house, and to be in this area" and it makes all the hardness, the confusion, the getting lost, the overwhelming feelings WORTH IT. :) We also had dinner with a member who returned home early from her mission in Honduras and I felt like I could connect and help her in a way that would not have been possible a few months earlier. She saw us at at the church between conference and said "there are MY missionaries!" It was so sweet and honestly made it all worth it.

There are small moments, the ones while we are teaching a lesson to a less active where the spirit testifies that I need to be here. There are small moments, when I am in the car singing my heart out to our favorite church song that it makes it all worth it. There are moments when I am testifying what I KNOW to be true, that it all is worth it. I know this Church is true. It has the priesthood keys restored! I know I am where I need to be. I know that God loves EACH one of His children and that He KNOWS us by name.

Have the best week ever! And happy (late) month of marriage Brad and Aubs! Love you guys.
