Whitewashing is fun to do, to do, to do

BUENO!

Hey guys! How was everyone's first full week without me?? Was it as hard as it was for me? No just kidding, this week was full of learning.

I can now honestly say three things. 1. that I know that I am here in the Texas Houston East Mission for a reason, and that God needs me here. 2. that I KNOW that Christ lives, that He came to America after He was resurrected to visit His people. 3. that I am totally, 1000%, completely in love with the members and people here. I love Spanglish and everyone here.

Fun fact about Texas, is that they only drink bottled water here! It's super weird to me because at home the tap water is so yummy and fresh! It also kills me that we have to buy water because anyone who knows me, knows that I drink 3 gallons of water a day haha.

This week was good here with the work! We are slowly changing the things the elders were doing but it's so amazing the miracles we are seeing!

We spent all Saturday and Sunday mucking out houses!! Driving to the first house almost broke my heart....there was allllll of the stuff from everyone's houses out on the curbs....as we were helping the first woman we went to clean out her house, and we took everything, I mean everything out of her house! We took out the sheetrock, insulation and everything up until to the first 4 feet. We stripped everything to studs and it smelled like some real good mold BUT when we asked her how she was she just said "well it's just stuff! My family is ok" I was amazed. Here is a woman who has nothing, yet she's not worried about it. She's not worried about the things in her life. It made me really stop and think!

As we were cleaning out houses I thought of something else as well...we were cleaning out a really old house, one with mold everywhere, and they had waited about 2 weeks to clean out their house. It made me think about repentance. We should never delay repenting, because it then gets harder and harder to do! Never delay it! We should repent daily to show our gratitude towards our Savior for His atonement!

Also, my area is in Humble, Texas! West Lake Houston Norte is our area and ward and they are the best. They have my heart already...I feel in love with them the moment I met them all.

I LOVE you all so much! Have a great week and make sure to say your daily prayers :))))

I LOVE the sunsets here...they give Utah a run for their money

The piles of stuff outside all the houses!
There's a town about 15 minutes from our house that got hit pretty bad!

My district is almost all hermanas and it's awesome!

  2. Have you made the connection yet that your mission mom is the daughter of the Deweys. She grew up here and her dad was in our stake presidency years ago. Small world! We're so glad you are having a wonderful experience.
